Halesowen Town - The Grove
|
Website(s) :  |
Discussion Boards(s) : none |
Directions : M5 to Junction 3, first left at the roundabout and follow the dual carriadgeway to the next roundabout. Take a right until the next roundabout, where you bear left until you reach the next one (no, this isn't Swindon). Now take the third exit up Old Hawne Lane and the ground is on the left. |
Parking : Street parking and a small area near the bar. |
Ground Description : There is a covered terrace up behind the goal as well as uncovered raised terrace on two sides of the ground. The Harry 'Fudge' Stand runs 3/4 of the length of one side of the pitch. |
Food : They have two tea bars here serving the standard fare. |
Social Club : Mark II. The original was burnt to the ground in the mid-nineties and has been replaced with a modern and spacious building which is better than most. |
Supporters : Once described as "nasal whingeing Brummies" by a fanzine that I read so that'll do! |
Memories : They always have all the luck against us and when they don't we draw 0-0. |

Hednesford Town - Keys Park
|
Website(s) :  |
Discussion Boards(s) :  |
Directions : M5 and then M6 until J11 (just after Hilton Park Services), then A460 towards Cannock. Turn right onto the A5 at the Longford House beefeater (no, you're not back in Gloucester) and then left at the roundabout just after the railway bridge. This becomes the A460 again as you bypass Cannock town centre, continue over two roundabouts and then turn right into Hemlock Way. Keys Park is straight over the next roundabout. |
Parking : Plenty on an unfinished car park that will cost a quid to park. Do as I did and drive straight past the stewards collecting the dosh. |
Ground Description : This is a strange one really because it's new (well, less than a decade old) but looks very much unloved. There are generously sized terraces behind one goal and alongside the pitch whilst the other goal hosts the away stand. The main stand is impressive but looks as though it would've been better had they built it the full length of the pitch and not only three quarters of it. |
Food : n/a |
Social Club : Good size with a dancefloor but there was a pungent stench of rubbish by the bar. |
Supporters : They got behind their team but when we were there we did give them something to cheer about (four goals in thirty minutes)! |
Memories : I've only been once and we lost 1-4 |

Hemel Hempstead Town - Vauxhall Road
|
Website(s) :  |
Discussion Boards(s) :  |
Directions : From the A41 take the main junction into town, go across the traffic light forest and take the second right at the Magic Roundabout onto the A414 St Albans Road. Go over two roundabouts and take the second left into Longlands, then the second right into Vauxhall Road. The ground has it's own exit on a roundabout halfway along this road. |
Parking : Loads at the ground. |
Ground Description : One of the better ones from the ex-Ryman gang. Two good covered stands behind either goal, although one is higher than the other due to a sloping pitch. Basic stands opposite each other on the halfway line. |
Food : Very nice, some of the best chips we've tasted and the burgers were good too. |
Social Club : Quite small and smoky although they did have a large projector screen with Pay per View football on it. |
Supporters : Not many and we didn't mix, but hey, we do try to keep our distance from the cockneys! |
