Banbury United - Spencer Stadium

Directions : The ground is situated down by the railway station on the edge of the town. It's quite an awkward place to get to from Gloucester, we took the tour of the Cotswolds via Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Chipping Campden. Once in Banbury it was quite straightforward, we just followed the signs for the railway station and then took a spur road on the right hand side of the car park for about a quarter of a mile.
Parking : Rough old car park with more potholes than the road that gets you there. Stay after the game and have a drink because it's traffic chaos until after five o'clock.
Ground Description : A pretty decent ground considering that they've been condemned to the Hellenic League for so long. A mid-sized stand and cover behind the top goal. On my only visit I stupidly stood out in the uncovered end and it p!ssed down. Needless to say, I got drenched!
Food : Nothing special, I was happy enough though.
Social Club : Didn't go in there...
Supporters : Very good support for their level. They had their biggest crowd of the season when we were there. One guy even walked up the canal bank from Oxford for the game!

Bashley - The Recreation Ground

Directions : Legend has it that the village of Bashley has more garden centres than pubs and for those that have been there there really isn't much else. Bashley is situated north of New Milton but it's best if you approach it from Christchurch on the A35 and turn right. The ground is on the left hand side of the road behind the village hall.
Parking : Parking on the main road and in a farmers field just down the road from the ground. It's THAT rural there!
Ground Description : It's looks quite out of place within it's countryside retreat. All of the facilities were down the one touchline on the last occasion that I visited with the other three sides all uncovered. On the sides opposite the stand they have bulls roaming around in the field!
Food : Can't remember but when you travel that far you're probably more likely to look for a chippy!
Social Club : Never been in there.
Supporters : They brought a few to the FA Cup game at Meadow Park in 2002/03 but other than that they seem to be pretty much like FGR before the bandwagon days.

Basingstoke Town - The Camrose Ground

Directions : Quite simple to get to from Gloucester. Head to Newbury, avoid the controversial bypass and go through town. Head out pass the controversial Greenham Common (what is it with Newbury and controversy!) and head off to Basingstoke. Follow signs for Winchester and the A30 when you get to the town. The ground itself is right on the main road but you entyer by passing the main stand, taking a right turn at the next roundabout and then going into the car park on the right.
Parking : Big car park, no problems parking.
Ground Description : A big old ground with a big stand.
Food : I had a sausage and chips meal in the clubhouse. Very nice!
Social Club : Decent bar with decent food.
Supporters : Can't remember too much about them because I think we beat them twice without them scoring.

Bath City - Twerton Park

Directions : Twerton Park is on the western side of Bath so it's usually best to approach it from Bristol and via the 'lower' part of the A4. Twerton itself is hidden from the main road by the railway viaduct and there are only about three portals to get through. When you get to the other side though the ground is behind the High Street.
Parking : Pretty big car park that they charge about £2 to park in.
Ground Description : Considering that Twerton Park was the home of Bristol Rovers for about ten seasons it's got all of the trappings of a football league ground. Not nescessarily a good thing as you find yourself in a host of 'cages' wherever you are in the ground. Both ends are uncovered with two mid sized stands on the one side and a big covered terrace opposite.
Food : Standard fare with more fat content than Lurpak.
Social Club : On an earlier visit it seemed like they had a small bar, but in 2003 I went there for an FA Trophy game and lo and behold the bar had doubled! Impressive bar with a TV projecter showing live Sky football.
Supporters : They must be a pretty decent bunch considering they've just raised £250,000 to buy the club out. However, saying that, on my last visit they seemed like a rather neanderathal bunch with their gestures towards us.

Bedford Town - The New Eyrie

Directions : A nice cross country run via Oxford, the M40, Buckingham and Milton Keynes but the ground is just off the Bedford Southern Bypass so it's easy enough to find.
Parking : Two car parks with plenty of parking.
Ground Description : Did someone say Portakabin? It's a rather minimalist new ground with just two small raised (and covered) terraces behind either goal and mid-sized stands on either side of the halfway line. One City fan thought he was back at Bishops Stortford because it bore such a striking resemblance to our FA Cup conquerers home from last year.
Food : A small selection from inside the Portakabin bar.
Social Club : Portakabin. The board room is also a Portakabin.
Supporters : The club was reformed by it's supporters after they went bust during the 1980's so they're a good bunch. Banter on their messageboards can get rather childish though and they seem to have a candidate for the 'Sutton Gnome' award as their Golden Goal seller gets all excited all too often.

Bedworth United - The Miners Welfare Oval

Directions : Quite easy to locate. M5, M42, M6 then off at Junction 3. Take the third exit and then left along the B4113 Coventry to Bedworth road for a few miles. The ground is the next right after the Leisure Centre traffic lights.
Parking : There is a car park in the ground and also rough parking behind the one goal.
Ground Description : It's an oval, hence the name. Clubhouse on one side and a big old fashioned stand on the other, with minimal cover for standing spectators one the one side. No cover behind either goal.
Food : Not bad, but I did have a burger at one evening game and spent the rest of the night at work farting!
Social Club : Small but tidy clubhouse.
Supporters : They are a grumpy bunch, but also can count the ever optimistic James Earl among their number. They also bring a fair few to away games.

Directions : Bishops Auckland is THE furthest I've ever travelled to watch City play. I'm not even going to attempt to give directions!
Parking : I think we parked in the street.
Ground Description : They've gone elsewhere now but from the clubhouse this looked like a fantastic ground. Then when we got in it became apparent that they'd shared the ground with the local cricket club and it had in fact only got two and a half sides to it! There is a flat terrace on one side, the clubhouse on the other and opposite is the main stand with banked terracing either side. It would be a decent ground if it had four sides!
Food : Can't remember.
Social Club : The cheapest beer ever!
Supporters : Being a one off game they attracted the local hoolies, not a pleasant atmosphere at all.

Bristol City - Ashton Gate

Directions : Take the M5 to Avonmouth and follow the A4 Portway into Bristol City Centre. Just after you pass under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, cross the Cumberland Basin on the swing bridge and follow the A370 for about a mile and take the second turning into Winterstoke Road (the ground is signposted). Ashton Gate is on the left. Beware though, if you miss the turning you're faced with a long drive, aroundabout eight mile round trip along the Long Ashton Bypass!
Parking : There is a Halfords car park next to the ground but it'll be full on match days.
Ground Description : It's like Wembley to the average Non-League fan (not rubble and a building site). Two big stands and two smaller ones, very nice.
Food : Expensive!
Social Club : n/a
Supporters : Lots of them!

Bristol Manor Farm - The Creek

Directions : The ground is alongside the A4 'Portway' in between Avonmouth and Bristol. When approaching from the M4 you need to pass the ground and go to the next junction and double back on yourself.
Parking : There's limited parking at the ground.
Ground Description : Not much of a ground. Everythings is on the one side with a big distance between the goalline and the fence at both ends. The other touchline is bordered by the railway line and the River Avon.
Food : I was sick in the car park after eating, no joke!
Social Club : Nice little club, probably used more by the locals than by football patrons.
Supporters : Who?

Bromsgrove Rovers - The Victoria Ground

Directions : Easyish place to find. Off the M5 at the south of the town, up the A38 and follow the bypass until the 'Town Centre' signs. Follow the road past the leisure centre then the ground is right in front of you.
Parking : Mainly street parking. It must be difficult if there's a big crowd.
Ground Description : Old looking ground with a big wooden stand and a big covered area behind the top goal. The rest of the ground really isn't up to much.
Food : Normal DML fare.
Social Club : Pretty decent bar on the side opposite the stand.
Supporters : One of the best supported clubs in the league although I'd imagine most are Villa fans who watch Bromsgrove.

Burton Albion - Eton Park

Directions : Pretty easy to find and also easy to get lost if you turn left out of the ground at the end of the game! Head into Burton on the A444, keep going until you cross over the railway line, then head north along the Derby Road. When you get to a roundabout, Eton Park is down the road to the left. It ought to be well signposted now that they are in the Conference.
Parking : Big car park, shouldn't be a problem.
Ground Description : Not much of a ground. Crappy little stand, nice covered terrace along the top though. There is a covered end behind the one goal and a covered terrace along the side where all of the moaners stand and influence the officials.
Food : Not to my taste but apparently the mushy peas and pies are top notch!
Social Club : Small and crowded.
Supporters : Once you get past the moaning and whining they're okay I suppose!
