A Season in Photos - Part Six - From Aylesbury (H) to Cirencester (H)
As 2005 entered it's final month we entertained the Ducks from Aylesbury, somewhat surprisingly struggling at the foot of the table. It was a drab game that only saw City grab a point thanks to a build up assisted by foul play that culminated in Dave Wilkinson smashing the ball home, a feat he'd repeat in the away game in March.

We got Alex Sykes fit for Bath City!

In midweek Chippenham came to Meadow Park and showed their class as they didn't really impress but still did enough to sneak a victory by the odd goal in one. Midfielder Ian Herring was head and shoulders above everyone else and it was fitting that he should bag the winning goal just inside the second half.
Word also has toi be said about Steve Perrin, the former Forest Green goalkeeper. You'd think that the larger than life stopper would be used to a little bit of banter from opponents what with his years of experience in the Conference but his reactions to some of the chat from the T-Enders was shameful.

Arf arf

Floodlight photography doesn't get much better than this!

Wilko has a "Platoon" moment

No Alex, this isn't Chippenham v's Bath so don't start a fight!

"Can we swap shirts after the game ref?"

What a lovely man!

Sadly, Luke was offside

City completed their first double of the season and grabbed a much needed three points in the process as they put VS Rugby United Town Rovers to the sword for the second time this season. A Luke Corbett goal from Tom Webb's corner early in the game settled matters and almost put an end to the afternoons photography because I clapped so hard I almost broke my finger!

Luke controls Webby's corner at the far post ....

.... and bangs in the winner for that Kodak (or rather Canon) moment!

Tom Webb, Gloucester City Captain

Crunch ....

.... but he didn't mean it apparently, so thats ok

Another midweeker, this time against Cirencester (yawn) Town in the Errea Cup played at Swindon Supermarine because Meadow Park had been hired out for a Christmas party. Chris Burns made several changes and gave Lee Randall a rare start and City were three down inside twenty minutes! The Tigers pulled two back in the second half through Reid and Randall and Burnsy pulled back the Ciren striker and should've been sent off but the game was played like a friendly so he was subbed!
