A Season in Photos - Part One - From Cheltenham Civil Service (A) to Wellington (A)
The sun is still shining and games are played without the need for floodlights. It must be Pre-Season!

The Chase family arranged a match against Steve's team, Cheltenham Civil Service, the only problem was that crossed wires mean't that Steve and Sandra were out of the country at the time. Uh-oh!

It started so well for Richard Kear with a hat-trick on his debut at Cheltenham CS

Even trialist Lance Lewis got in the act with a trio of his own

League Two side Rochdale paid their annual visit to Meadow Park for a game after a day undergoing tests at the Universtity of Gloucestershire.

The Rochdale players went "Balls Out" for their 4-0 victory!

Dave Wilkinson had spent all summer polishing his shooting boots....

.... well that was a waste of time!

A scratch eleven made the trip down to The Creek to face Bristol Manor Farm. The canny ones (me and the old man) avoided the M5 because of the traditional summer Saturday traffic and went via Thornbury, Aust and Avonmouth. While the not so sharp ones sat nose to tail on the motorway, hence the lack of players!

Thommo shoots.... wide.

Lyndon stood out against Western League opposition (!)

"Yawn" ...... "Surely thats full time?" ...... "Zzzzz" ...... "Is that a bus?"

Following more local games at Highworth and Brockworth the Tigers made the midweek trip to Shortwood United, a team co-managed by ex-City keeper Mark Sumpter. Two more goals from Rich Kear raised our hopes for the forthcoming season..

Lyndon picks his opponents nose!

Daryl Addis scores a rare goal

Wilko gets airborne ...

... but misses the target!

Kear scores again ....

.... and again!

And so the pre-season campaign was concluded with a trip to deepest Herefordshire, not Somerset or Telford as previously thought. We turned up at 2.50pm for a game that had been advertised as a 3pm kick off only to find that it had started early and was almost half time! Still, most of the goals came in the second period from Tom Webb, Jamie Reid (who apologised after scoring!) and Lee Randall.

Webby controls the ball and bang ....

.... it's a goal!

Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!

So, thats what happened to Kenny Stiles!
