Marcus, a striker had two spells on loan at Meadow Park whilst he was rising through the ranks at Bristol Rovers. |
His first term in a City shirt was in early 1990 after the floodwaters had receeded and he was on the scoresheet in the then record 9-0 victory against Gosport Borough. |
The next season, the more successful one under the Chairmanship of Les Alderman saw Browning score eight goals in ten games with his debut coming against Russian giants Dinamo Minsk in a friendly match. You can see a videoclip of him scoring from the penalty spot . |
His devastating spell included a brace against league new boys Bashley and a sublime hat trick at home to Crawley Town. Marcus' last game for the Tigers came in a frustrating 0-1 defeat away at the Avenue Stadium against Dorchester Town. |
After successfully breaking into the Rovers first team he earned himself a big money move up north to Huddersfield Town alongside his team mate Marcus Stewart and whilst his namesake made a name for himself our man became an injury hit journeyman around the lower leagues. |
Following his spell at the McAlpine Stadium Marcus represented Gillingham for a number of years and has recently been playing out the twilight of his career at Bournemouth and came on as substitute in their recent 3-1 victory over Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup. |
