Having been a professional at Mansfield, Torquay and Shrewsbury he had the talent but maybe not the attitude to make the grade. His debut was in the County Cup away at Cheltenham where he scored a great goal to send the Tigers on their way to victory. He also scored a bizarre goal against Newport AFC when his long range shot took a deflection of defender George Brown on route and as ex-Tottenham keeper Mark Kendall waited to claim it the spin that it had picked up off of Brown saw it bounce like an impossaball to Kendall's right, over his head and into the back of the net!
