Michael Whittington - Striker
1st Debut : Last Game : (unused sub)
2nd Debut : Last Game : (unused sub)
Young striker who finally signed for the Tigers in June 2007 are his release from a professional contract following three loan spells at Meadow Park in the previous two season.
Michael is a small, powerful striker with a tremendous eye for goal who had scored thirteen goals in just twenty games during his temporary spells with the club, the first of which was at the business end of the 2005/06 campaign followed by two month loans last year.
Whitts initially joined the Tigers in February 2006 on "work experience" terms and after a slow start netted seven goals in eight games before he was crudely injured by Yate Town goalkeeper Tony Court.
He returned to the club just after the start of the 2006/07 campaign when he netted three goals in seven matches before eventually coming back to Meadow Park in time for the FA Trophy game against Margate as he won and converted a penalty to put City through to the next round.
Upon signing Whitts commented ""I had interest from a few clubs, and I have been around clubs at this level on loan but Gloucester is the one that stood out for me so it was an easy decision to make" says Whittington. "The club matches my ambition, Tim is a good manager who knows how to get the best from his team, and the fans are fantastic every match, really getting behind the team".
