King had previous experience playing for Hartpury University. He made his debut as substitute away at Taunton on the opening day coming on as a first half substitute when City had gone 0-3 down but went off again in the second half after picking up an injury that kept him out for the following month. King scored his first goal in the FA Trophy game at home to Wimborne Town when he perfectly timed a jump at a corner to head home the equaliser.
