Steve Talboys - Midfielder

D.O.B. - 18/09/1966
D.O.D. - 31/07/2019

1st Debut : Paget Rangers (H) - 28/11/87
Last Game : Dorchester Town (A) - 01/01/92

2nd Debut : Salisbury City (H) - 15/04/00
Last Game : Salisbury City (H) - 15/04/00

Popular attacking midfielder signed from Trowbridge Town in 1987. "Stixy" was a lorry driver by day and a ladies man by night!

Steve will always be remembered for his little shimmy and shot that put City into the lead at Cardiff in the FA Cup but always had an eye for goal as he amassed 65 goals in his five seasons at the club before being signed by Wimbledon manager Peter Withe for a paltry £11,000 and a friendly. That friendly took four years to happen and they sent a reserve team.

Steve was a Robbie Earle type attacking midfielder so it didn't really help that Wimbledon already had Robbie Earle and he spent much of his four seasons there on the fringes of the team although did play in 26 games, scoring against Norwich City in the Premier League.

Upon his release from the Milton Keynes club he joined Watford, played two games and made his way into their all time worst XI!

Steve went back into non-league football and represented numerous clubs around the London area before making a surprise return to Meadow Park for one game in April 2000.

Sadly Steve passed away on holiday in Spain in 2019.
