Youth team graduate who was one of the better players that Chris Burns inherited when he took the reins of the club in 2001 with his £500 per week budget.
Steve first appeared in February 1999 playing a couple of games before heading off to Cirencester Town, then back to City a year later.
He was a mainstay of the City midfield for three seasons chipping in with the odd goal here and then and also picked up a couple of red cards; one for a professional foul early doors against a strong Solihull Borough team showed that you don't always need eleven men to win as City trounced the Midlanders 4-2.
In his final season he didn't score however he did net a truly astonishing strike in a pre-season friendly against Bath City.
