Former Bristol Rovers youngster who was a major player in the Cheltenham Town side that pipped City to promotion in the mid 90s.
Came to Meadow Park along with former teammate Jimmy Smith under the management of Brian Hughes in the summer of 1999 and wasn't ever properly warmed to among the T-Enders due to his previous connections.
In an injury hit spell he scored just the two goals; the winner at home to Ilkeston Town and a superb free kick against Chesham United in the FA Trophy. Paul left the club amid a financial crisis where all players contracts were cancelled and Hughes had been sacked.
After a short spell at Merthyr Tydil he returned to the club as player/coach under new manager Tommy Callinan at the start of the following season.
With City having been relegated he was more prolific in the lower division finding the net eight times in just shy of thirty appearances. Then the financial beast of burden reared it's ugly head again with players only being paid half of what they were due Chenoweth led an exodus of players out of Meadow Park.
