Mike Kilgour - Defender
D.O.B. - - Dartford
Debut : VS Rugby (H) - 20/08/94
Last Game : Bristol Manor Farm (H) - 09/09/95
Melksham based defender who needs no introduction to anyone in non-league football around this area.
Mike was a commanding figure who used to height to his advantage both at the back and for scoring the odd goal up at set pieces.
However, as good as he was in the air he was less able on the deck and would best be described as "no nonsense" and probabloy lost more footballs than most by punting them out the ground into next week.
Killer is one of those people that looks just the same now as he did twenty years ago with his prominent features and year round tan.
His spell at Meadow Park lasted just over a season as his partnership with Gary Kemp was broken when John Murphy moved Alan Bird into the middle to accomodate new signing Neil Reeves.
He played for both Dorchester Town and Newport AFC before enjoying his most successful spell under Frank Gregan at the Lawn as Forest Green Rovers won two successive promotions from the Dr Martens Southern Division to the height of the Vauxhall Conference.
After leaving Rovers he rejoined Gregan at Weston as they too got promotoed into the new Conference South and as part of the management team at Mangotsfield United was due to play his one thousandth senior game but there are doubts as to whether he ever did.
