Striker signed for the club in January 2022 having previously almost signed five months earlier but chose to go to play in Northern Ireland for Linfield instead.
His two goals for the club both came away from Meadow Park; one a deft header away at Edgar Street in a 1-2 defeat at Hereford and another in the mud in the 2-1 win at Farsley Celtic. His time at the club was something of a disappointment from a fans point of view.
Matt was one of the graduates from the Cirencester Town academy and went on to have a successful Football League career, most notably at Mansfield Town where he is considered a legend. He scored an important goal for them in the same goal at Hereford where he scored for City.
He was also featured on the "Class of '92" documentary about the rise of Salford City FC when he became a key signing for them.
