Teenage striker who had two loan spells with the club before going on to enjoy a successful Football League career.
His first spell came towards the end of the 1989/90 season where he was used mainly as a substitute but did manage to score twice, one of which was in the 9-0 home win against Gosport Borough.
The following season he came back and enjoyed a two month loan where he played every minute of every game, scoring eight goals in his ten appearances including a hat trick at home to Crawley Town.
There was actually an eleventh game, his first one was at home to Dinamo Minsk in an International friendly which Bristol Rovers manager Gerry Francis was supposed to guest for us but they sent Marcus instead. He scored a penalty in that game.
At the end of his career Marcus had a spell with Bath City. Off camera after an interview with City manager David Mehew I asked him why we couldn't sign a player like that, "He's only after one last pay day" came the response. I don't think Marcus had much of an impact at Twerton Park so those were wise words from Boris!
