Lee was released by the club at the end of the 2006/07 season to allow him to play more football than he was getting with the Tigers and after an unsuccessful trial at Cinderford Town he opted to become part of the backroom staff at Gloucester rather than to continue playing. When he did play he was considered to be a skillful midfielder who made his debut for away at Gresley Rovers in August 2001. The first thing that you'd notice about him is that he was carrying a little extra weight to be considered seriously for a regular game at Southern League level and if that were to alter there was a chance that he might have had an impact.
