Highly unusual for a non-league club to pay such a fee to a football league team for a player. Eaton was an immediate success at Meadow Park scoring at a rate of a goal almost every other game during his two year spell. He became forever unpopular with the City fans when he requested to join Cheltenham Town and moved to the dark side of the Golden Valley for £19,000 in October 1992. Through his career he played for several clubs in the west country and south Wales on both sides of a rivalry. As an FGR player he had a game at Doncaster Rovers where a City fan was in attendance who spent a full hour walking up and down the touchline giving Eaton abuse. He was thrown out by stewards halfway through the second half. Eaton was disappointingly brought back to City on loan in November 2004.The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
