Darren Mullings - Midfielder

D.O.B. - 03/03/87

Debut : Workington (A) - 14/08/10
Last Game : Stockport County (H) - 08/03/14

Darren is a goalscoring midfielder signed from Weston-super-Mare in the summer of 2010.

After starting his career with Bristol Rovers' youth side Filton Academy he was the first player to represent both England College’s at U-19 level and England Schoolboys at U-18 level in the same season.

In the same year he was awarded young sportsperson of the year for 2005 by EDF Energy.

He only made four first team appearances for the Pirates, all as substitue before moving on to Torquay where he played just six times although he was involved when the Gulls were runners up in the FA Trophy Final at Wembley in May 2008.

After his release from Torquay he played for Weston for two seasons in the Conference South.

Described by several local managers as a very good signing after looking average in pre-season he impressed on his debut at Workington even though City lost 1-2.

As the season has progressed he has become the midfielder that City have needed to break the Rose / Webb partnership and with his eye for goal looks as though he may be the man to replace Alex Sykes.
