Alan Bird - Defender
Debut : VS Rugby (H) - 20th August 1994
Last Game : Gresley Rovers (A) - 19th March 1996
One of a number of players who'd followed John Murphy from Trowbridge town to City in the summer of 1994.
Bird was a bit of a utility player across the defence or midfield and on the odd occasion played wide on the right but even though he had the ability to beat his man his ungainly style usually saw him in a heap on the floor as he attempted to put over a cross.
He spent the best part of two seasons with the club, leaving after Murphy was sacked and heading up the M5 to Worcester for an extra £20 per week!
Later on he was a member of Frank Gregan's Weston Super Mare team that won promotion to the Conference South.
